    1. That's a great idea! Most of the time I just let my hair go natural and wild - a trick I learned in France :)

  5. Yay! I'd love to see a video about the things you found tricky when going zero waste, and how you overcame them, kind of like a troubleshooting guide. I think that would be really helpful!

  8. Hey Miss Singer,

This is the second time I come to your blog (better later than never!) and learning about those news made me think "wow, what a timing!" I'm looking forward to learn from you both in text and in video, but I see I have to do a lot of catching up :)

XOXO, and cheers to a life with as less trash as possible both phisically and metaphisically, if that makes any sense to you!

  9. Hi Lauren! Fellow Bea Johnson fan here. Good job! I am not at either of your levels yet, but am slowly getting there. In 2010 (before I discovered Bea, actually:-)) I made the decision to cut my trash by 2/3. I went from a weekly 32 gallon trash can to a 12 gallon trash box. After I discovered Bea and the Zero-Waste Home blog, I cut back to one 12-gallon box a month. Then one box every six weeks. Then things plateaued for a while...life happens. But in the middle of last year I put my foot down and said "if Bea's family of *four* can produce only one Mason jar a YEAR. surely I, as one person, can at least get it down to one Mason jar a *month*. And for 6 months of last year , I did! (At least for my personal trash. Unfortunately, the trash box is full of cat poop from my two felines so the box is is still going out. once a month unless it is really hot out. The boyfriend gets his own wastebasket and guests get their own as well) So far, this month, the first month of 2015, my mason jar is only 1/4 full. I have high hopes! (Still need to find a legal, safe way to bury or compost cat poop- but what can I say? As shelter rescue cats, the cats themselves are "recycled" in a way and bring much.
Keep up the good work! If you have time, check out my own personal zero-waste, carbon-free adventure: I have been blogging about it since 2008 -Deb Seymour www.debgoesgreen.com

  11. YEA! Here are a few things I'd like for you to cover:
    - How you buy groceries, like meat... it usually come in a styrofoam tray or the market guy puts it in a bag then wraps it in paper. If you don't buy meat what do you suggest us carnivores do?
    - How do you separate your trash for recycling? I recycle but there are still those things that I have no idea what to do with. We have strict recycling rules here in Texas.
    - What about when you eat out? Do you just avoid restaurants or only go to those that use real dishware?
    - What happens when you are offered something to eat by someone and it has a wrapper on it or something else that can't be put in a recycle bin, what do you do?

  14. I'm mostly struggling to get my fiancé on the same page. He has done a wonderful job of being supportive and getting used to the compost bin, but he isn't as strict as me so I find myself giving into things like chips and take away pizza a lot more than I would like to be.

Thanks so much for the blog! You have inspired me to live my values every day.

  22. Albeit numerous web clients just watch recordings on YouTube, there are numerous who likewise post their own particular YouTube recordings. On the off chance that you have never done as such, you might ponder regardless of whether you should. http://khoobsurati.com/how-to-download-youtube-videos-android-pc.html
